A hydra is dragon-like monster with five to twelve heads. It does not roll for hit points; instead it has a full 8 hp per head. It can attack with all of its heads every round, but for every 8 points of damage that it takes, one of the heads “dies” and can no longer attack.

Some rare hydras have unusual abilities: fiery breath, poisonous bites, or the power to regenerate heads.
