Harpies are a race of siren-kind: bird-folk endowed with a magical, charming song. Those who hear their song and fail a saving throw will become enraptured and defenseless. Harpies typically slay and devour their charmed victims. Most harpies are hideous to look at, and with hearts as evil and corrupted as their countenances; but it’s said that a rare few harpies are true sirens, as beautiful to look upon as their songs are to hear. (Whether these are more sociable than ordinary harpies, none can say.)
