There are lots of different types of monster within the “snake” class. So far, the party has encountered only the spitting cobra and the giant racer.

A spitting cobra can spit its venom out to a range of 6’ (in which case the target must save or be blinded for an indefinite length of time); or it can bite for 1d3 damage, in which case, 1d10 turns (10–100 minutes) later, the snakebite victim will suffer an additional 1d10 points of damage from poison (a successful saving throw can reduce the poison damage to 1d5).

Connor MacLeary befriended a spitting cobra in Shade Abbey; now the snake follows Connor as an animal companion named Salazar Slithering.
